Great idea for a lesson with lots of potential sparks for learning. Participating in tribal voyages in some way could be a strong connection. There were extensive tribal voyages that explored the coast and the world and they continue now each year. Hawaii was a big part of early voyages. I can't see all of your pages yet, but look forward to coming back and checking them out!

Quality over quantity! Your artifact is has great detail and speaks to a very important issue, First Nations. Your writing is eloquent and easy to read. I love how you tied indigenous culture from elsewhere into a lesson possibility for a BC class. I was confused about how this was relevant at first, but understood it by the end. I encourage you to do a little more set up of the context. This was a great tie into ethical understanding for the BC standards. It is a great start, and I am excited to see more artifacts from you!

Hi Breanna, Great video. It will be nice to see how you bring that connection to family and to nature into your classroom. I think I recognized a picture at the entrance to the North coast trail-is that possible? I think you should be adding some reflections about the socials course, you can think about it in general, you can answer some of the questions I have posed via email, and I would like to see you make connections between the course and the curriculum. Choose a couple of socials courses and make some inquiry questions and imagine some potential activities that you could do that would build on the course material to meet the core competencies and big ideas of the selected courses. Think a little about how this connects to your understanding of what the purpose of teaching is, and how it can be done. I'm looking forward to seeing more soon!
