Reflection on my ePortfolio Exit Interview
Being interviewed by both Kerry Robertson and Jessica Smith not only formalized the TGfU knowledge that I gained throughout the semester, but demonstrated the severity and importance of our work as educators. Being able to demonstrate what I learned through showing it on Folioz allowed me to not only sound good but look good. Having actual examples to support the TGfU theories that I acquired in class made me feel and look more professional.
Using this forum as a means to look back on what I have learned throughout this course reveals any confusion or frustration I had at the time of trying to acquire the knowledge. Dr. Tim Hopper not only taught us a TGfU approach to learning but subliminally taught it to use within the TGfU method. This forced a new way of thinking, and understanding that quite honestly surfaced as frustration due to my struggle with grasping new teaching methods. However now being able to look back upon my artifacts and explain the theory and understanding that they demonstrate makes me proud of what I achieved within this course.
Moving forward within my professional education career, TGfU practices will permeate throughout my lesson plans. Focusing on inclusion as well as sports education models to propel my courses forward by allowing most of the kids to be active most of the time. These ideas will allow a larger appreciation and life long engagement with physical activity for my students.
