Mini-Unit Plan
Mini-Unit Plan
This is a Unit Plan that is meant to be used for a English/Social Studies 11 cross-curricular course. We focused on point of view, with a specific study of sections of The Book Thief and the unique use of Death as the narrator within that novel. We also integrated this study with a section of the Holocaust, studying point of view through the perspective of those who experienced the Holocaust first hand. The students were then meant to take ID cards from the Holocaust Memorial Museum and describe these situations through a different point of view on a classroom blog.

This is a blog post about my first teaching experience, and about learning about another student in Canada who is reaching fellow students who loved books across Canada: emilybonnettblog.wordpress.com
After I wrote this blog, this teen actually tweeted me back and responded so positively to my post about her! It was so cool to use twitter to encourage a student who I myself had only learned about because her passions aligned those of a student at Claremont. It was amazing to hear from this vlogger, who is a technologically proficient student who uses her interests to encourage the interests in others, and was still able to be a engaged student in her own school.
