Jessica Williams

My name is Jessica Williams, and I am student in the teacher education program at the University of Victoria. I grew up in Calgary, Alberta, and made my way to the west coast when I left for college. I started my post secondary schooling at Kwantlen Polytechnic University where I played two years of college basketball. Following those two years I made my way over to Victoria where I played my third and final year at Camosun College. I then transfered to UVic to finish my post secondary degree.

My passion for Biology stems back to my childhood. From a very young age I was interested in marine biology. Over and over again I would look at my grandparents Jacques Cousteau book imagining all the beautiful landscapes and creatures around me. My interest in biology grew deeper during my high school years when I found my passion for human anatomy and physiology. However, my interest of the subject would not have been as great if it weren't for the amazing role models that taught me the information. Growing up I found great support from both my teachers and coaches. Those teachers that I remember created great community in the classroom, and opened their doors to absolutely everyone. They equipped me with the tools required to succeed once I completed High School. These teachers are the reason why I chose to go into teaching, because I want to be that role model. I want to share my passion, devotion and love for learning with everyone. I am excited and anxious. I cannot wait to see all the amazing opportunities that the future holds!
