Reflection
Assessment: To what level of competency do you feel you are performing the learning implied in this big idea?
I'm currently at the "expanding" level of competency. This is due to not only my original video post on the feed, but the amount/ quality of my responses. Keeping in an active conversation over a long period of time through thoughtful comments is what truly fosters a great community, as opposed to adding a post every two weeks and then never going onto the feed again. I'm also responding to others comments, not just the main topic. This is more an internal conversation that becomes more intimate than merely overarching comments addressing what questions Dr. Hopper asked us to respond to.
Evidence: How does the evidence show your developing competencies in relation to this big idea?
I'm not only regurgitating information that I have read, but putting the the information into context through actual examples within my responses. This literally gives the student a game to play, or a direct quote that can help their students as opposed to a blanket statement that my peer must translate into their activity.
Personal growth: What can you now do based on this evidence?
Have better communication amongst my professional peers, and give/ receive feedback in order to better the community as a unit.
Goal: What is something you want to work on or improve on in relation to this big idea?
I would like to work on my own ego. I have always had trouble excepting criticism (as I'm sure most do) but need to understand that in a professional context that someone is trying to help out the community.
