Respecting First Nations Culture

As many First Nations dances bear ceremonial and cultural significance, it is best to present these dances in cooperation with local people and elders of First Nations heritage. This also mitigates the possibility of cultural appropriation and ensures that students will also learn about and respect the significance behind a dance's movements.

Permission to do a First Nation dance is granted by the Native Friendship Centre. Explain who you are and what you are trying to do in creating resources to teach culturally themed dances.
