About Me
My name is April Oldford and I am currently completing my Bachelor of Education at the University of Victoria. My two concentrations are great passions of mine, Art and English. I believe that these are special subjects because, past the grammar and elements and principles of art, they are studies of what it is to be human. My current favorite Young Adult novel that I would like to bring into the classroom for this very reason is Perks of Being a Wallflower.
My own art practices include mixed media collage and painting, digital arts, film and digital photography, and drawing. I honestly enjoy every medium and like the idea of lending myself across several specialties. My current project is a post card and poster line that I am hoping to have up and selling this summer. I am also eagerly looking forward to some extra painting and drawing courses in May and June.
I also have a strong appreciation for sports and the great outdoors. I played soccer at a junior professional level for many years, and though I do not play anymore, I hope to bring that background into my school community.
I am very excited enter the next phase of my teaching career! Welcome to my EPortfolio!
