About me
I am in my final year of my Education degree in the School of Exercise Science, Physical and Health Education. I am currently working towards a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education and History with the goal of teaching students in the Province of BC.
Outside of school I enjoy living an active lifestyle. This past summer I completed my first 10km road race and took part in the endurance event Tough Mudder, in Whistler, BC.
In a volunteer capacity I have coached floor hockey, soccer and track and field for the BC Special Olympics on a weekly basis, as well as volunteering as a full time counsellor at Operation Trackshoes, an annual 3 day sporting and social event for people with developmental and physical disabilities.
When looking to the future I endeavour to teach grades 8 - 12 in a caring and welcoming environment and I am considering furthering my development in the fields of Educational Psychology and Special Education. Completing a Masters of Education degree in Special Education will be my future goal after graduation and work experience.

My story
I am a victim of bullying, I have been a bystander and I have, unfortunately, been part of a group that has bullied others. I have experienced first hand the emotional and physical effects that fear, name calling and harassment can cause. School was the centre for the behaviour and I am determined to eradicate such behaviours in my classroom and my school community. I believe that the classroom should be an inclusive, respectful and caring community.
