About me...

Cindee Martin-Abersek's profile picture

Je m'apelle Cindee Martin-Abersek. I am a 4th yr student studying for my Bachelors Degree in Education at the University of Victoria. As a professional local artist, I have chosen Art as my main teaching area. French has been my 2nd area of study as that's where the demands are in teaching.

I have been actively studying, producing and selling my artwork in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico for 12 years. Locally I have exhibited and sold my work at: Bastion Square Fesitval of the Arts, the Mary Winspear Centre, the Moss Street Paint-in and the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. I have been studying Art at UVIC for 6 yrs now. I am not aspiring to be a Master artist but to share what I am passionate about. There is so much more to art than drawing and painting.

"Life is the art of drawing without an eraser.” ~John W. Gardner

Prior to returning to university at 36, I was employed by the Montreux Counseling Clinic, directed by Peggy Claude-Pierre. I was a private one-on-one caregiver for young males and females with acute eating disorders, primarily anorexia and bulimia. Even after Montreux closed it's doors in 2000, I continued to support and work for Peggy Claude-Pierre and worked with private clients abroad.

Do it Anyway

Posted on 12 April 2013, 8:26

“People are often unreasonable and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you.
Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough.
Give your best anyway.”
~Mother Teresa
