Task Progression Analysis Template

Task Progression Analysis

Task progression is one of the major concepts that I have learned this semester. It is so important to make a sport or activity accessible to all students so that they can remain engaged and find a level of success in what they are doing. This template is perfect for planning an activity and then breaking it down into different aspects and difficulties. It is great for staying organized and insuring that no details are overlooked. It is important to start with the final activity before breaking it down so that the students can conceptualize what their eventual goal is but to insure that it has as few rules as possible so that the kids can focus on the playing aspect of the activity without having to focus too much on rules and restraints.

Reflection

One of the most important skills to have as a teacher is organization and preparation. It is important to always have a plan coming into a lesson so that everything runs smoothly and you are able to maximize the time the kids get to play. Being able to adapt and be flexible is also a very important skill to have however if you don't have a basic outline and task progressions planned out before hand it is easy to loose control and get off task. These two documents are great in helping stay organized and to insure that as a teacher you are ready for the different interests and abilities of your class.
