Reasoning
I chose to use my Field Experience Observations as an educational artifacts due to its connection to the "Document and reflect on own experiences with different pedagogical approaches" part of the "Learning and Effective Teaching" big idea. This is because for the observation, I observe the teaching style of another teacher and documented things that I would like to try to implement into my physical education teaching.
I used my linking of an academic article as an artifact as it connects with the "linking readings on learning processes to PE practices modeled in class and discussed in academic articles" sections of the "Learning and Effective Teaching" big idea. This is artifact is a response to Dr. Tim Hopper's class overview, in which I linked a class reading to my response.
Learning Experiences in EPHE 452
Learning Experiences in EPHE 452 in order to generate evidence of developing competence.
- Linking readings on learning processes to PE practices modeled in class and discussed in academic articles.
- Show with examples of materials created how to effectively plan for teaching in schools, assess student learning and use teaching approaches that address the needs of all students.
- Document and reflect on own experience learning within different pedagogical approaches such as TGfU and Sport Education and articulate how you might be able to implement in your future practice as a physical educator.
Reflection
Assessment: To what level of competency do you feel you are performing the learning implied in this big idea?
Evidence: How does the evidence show your developing competencies in relation to this big idea?
Personal growth: What can you now do based on this evidence?
Goal: What is something you want to work on or improve on in relation to this big idea?
ARTIFACT 6: Linking Readings
Response
Assessment: I believe I have have an average competency in this big idea. I am able to link readings on learning processes of physical education, as well as the ability to reflect on learning experiences, specifically through observation and exposure to TGfU.
Evidence: The document on in-school observation proves that I am able to make connections between things I have observed in middle school and relate them to tithe TGfU concepts we have learn in class.
Personal growth: With this evidence, I am able to implement TGfU games, tasks and drill in to middle schoool phys ed classes and see how they work, what would need to be adjusted and how I could present material better. I have also shown I can link readings into discussions in a meaningful way
Goal: My goal is to try and implement the positive things I observed in middle school into my teaching, as well as implementing TGfU concepts into the physical education classroom. I would also like to link reading concepts into lesson plans.
