UVIC Summer Camps Weekly Plan
UVIC Summer Camps Weekly Plan
This is a sample of a weekly plan I created for UVIC Summer Camps 2018. This was one week of the summer. All of the games and activities that we organized were developed based on age group and skill level. We promoted an environment that let kids learn at their own pace while still participating with the rest of the group. In Tee Ball, children were given the choice between different sized bats. In basketball, the children could use different height of net so they could focus on proper form. Group games included different variations of tag, parachute games, etc. All of the games allowed for some choice to make an inclusive environment.
Rugby Lesson Plan
Rugby Lesson Plan
Emily and I created a lesson plan for a Grade 7 Physical Education class at Arbutus Middle School. Our lesson plan, has different task progressions with the our main game being End Ball. The task progressions centre around our two main skills: Pass and Catch. There are various 'drills' that help build those motor skills. Firstly, passing with a partner, then adding defenders and progressing until there is a full game of end ball.
Inclusion Project
EPHE 250 Group Project
In EPHE 250, myself and some other students created a circuit with different stations. This circuit included Basketball, Bean Bag Toss, Juggling and Playing Toss. The stations all had task progressions. The purpose for having task progressions in this circuit was to allow for different abilities to participate. As an example, for juggling students were able to use either juggling pins, balls or mesh towels. This made it possible for students with different levels of abilities to participate in juggling. This approach is similar to what you would do in a Physical Education class. Make sure that everyone can participate in the skill while also being challenged and having a common goal.
Teaching Reflection
Teaching Reflection
Emily and I reflected on our personal teaching styles, what went well, what needed to be changed and how we could make those changes. Doing the reflection helped emphasize parts of my teaching that needed work and I was able to outline a way in which to do so.
