Lesson:
1. Created our own Google Classrooms
2. Joined with our coloured teams to assign team roles and come up with team name
3. Went to the gym to play pickle-ball
Pickle-ball Focus:
- Movement after hitting the ball over the net
- Proper form when striking the ball (Athletic stance, follow through)
- Anticipating where the ball may go and adjusting accordingly
Pickle-Ball Parameters:
- Net Height
- Amount of touches on the ball
- Court length
Questions:
1. How did lowering and raising the net change the flow of the game?
2. When might adding a second 'touch' on the ball before hitting it over be a good idea?
3. Did you feel you improved throughout the class?
4. Which parameter change helped you improve the most? (Net height, court length, amount of touches)
5. How can similar progressions be carried over in other net/wall games?

Response to Video

Response to Video

I responded to Cam's video from class on February 4, 2019. Emily and I had done our peer teaching and we all participated in Brett and Christine's Lesson and Graeme and Amy's.

Assessment

I feel like I grasp the concepts of the big idea. My artifacts show that I am competent and understand the main ideas of the big idea.

Evidence

My video shows the entirety of the class and the questions associated with it generate critical thinking about the classes key concepts. My response to Cam's video shows that I was able to think about the questions he asked and answer them properly and with reference to the classes main concepts.

Personal Growth

I could reference the TGfU textbook more in my responses. I feel like I grasp the concepts but I could use the textbook more to further my knowledge.

Goal

In my next video response or post to the class feed, I will look through the textbook to make sure my claims are backed by TGfU and also to gather more information that could help peers in their learning.
