About me
Hello! Welcome to my digital portfolio. I am a student at University of Victoria, and I currently hold a degree in Sport and Fitness Leadership. I am in the process of hopefully being accepted into the PDPP Secondary Education Program.
I want to become a PE teacher because I believe it is my calling. Sports and physical literacy has had such a positive impact on my life, and I would love to share that with the future generations. I strongly feel I have the leadership skills, and character traits to leave a positive impact on young people's lives.
I grew up in North Vancouver where I attended Elementary and Secondary School. My love for sports started at a young age when I got involved in soccer at the age of six. Since then my passion has grown as I went on to be a captain of my high school basketball team. My experience being so involved in high school basketball was a segway into my interest in coaching. When I graduated high school I moved to Victoria where I became employed with Sportball. My role at Sportball involved coaching young children the fundamentals of a variety of sports. For the past few years I have been involved with coaching basketball at Oak Bay High School, starting as an assistant coach, and just this past year being the head coach of the Junior B Boys team. Throughout my time in Victoria I have also worked as a respite worker with a now 14 year old boy, who has significant special needs.
