Scenarios to teach the pick and roll through the TGfU model
Progression #2
B1 begins by facing away from baseline. B2 begins by facing at a 45 degree angle to their right from the baseline. B1 counts down from three. B1 then rotates 45 degrees counterclockwise and begins shuffling towards baseline. B1 holds up number with left hand between 1-5. B2 runs at the 45 degree angle towards the right side line, then once they place a foot on the sideline runs towards baseline. While running, B1 must see and call what number B2 is holding up with their left hand.
B1 gets 2 points for hittingĀ end-lineĀ before B1 does. B2 gets 1 point for saying what number B1 was holding up, and/ or 1 point for getting to baseline first.

Follow Up Questions
Questions to ask students to promote learning:
Who was faster to the baseline and why?
What physical changes did B1 and B2 do to move faster?
How does B2 looking to see what hand signals B1 is showing translate into the pick and role?
